Built in the late 1950s for Great Northern Railway, this 50 boxcar was used for lumber and plywood service, and was originally painted in the vermilion red scheme before being repainted in the Big Sky Blue scheme in the late 1960s. Great Northern was a Class 1 railroad founded in 1881 and eventually was merged with Northern Pacific, and others, to form Burlington Northern Railroad in 1970.
